OBJECTIVES
My goals are to present selected pieces of my artwork for gallery showings and other public viewings, to continue development in surrealistic techniques and other art forms, and to promote sales of my prints and original artwork.
EXPERIENCE
1985-present - Freelance graphic art and surrealistic art
Various freelance work done including business card designs; illustrations for scientific books, journals, and newsletter articles; cd cover and poster designs for bands; advertisements; logo designs; t-shirt designs; tattoo designs; drawings of historic houses and barns for various individuals; wildlife drawings; surreal and other artwork produced for sales and presentation in galleries and other public areas (i.e. airports, businesses, libraries, offices, etc.); presentations about art to high school and college art classes; art instruction to children. SKILLS
Experienced in a wide variety of media types such as pen and ink, watercolor, acrylic paint, charcoal, graphite, digital, wood carving, and other types.
Skilled in a variety of genres of art including surrealism/visionary art, impressionistic landscape painting, scientific illustration, floral painting, wildlife drawings, graphic design, etc.
Skilled at a variety of computer programs including Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat, Macromedia Dreamweaver, Microsoft Word, Excel, Biota, and PowerPoint. Experience with a variety of scanners, color and black and white printers, and a Wacom electronic drawing pad with stylus.
Insect and other photography with the use of film based SLR cameras, various digital SLR cameras, and digital camera microscopy with Image Pro Plus software and Leica Application Systems (LAS) with Automontage module.
Experience with a the use of a variety of stereomicroscopes and compound microscopes, microscopic drawing tubes and camera lucida, micro-slide projector, and measuring reticules.
Web design and development-have designed and maintained several web sites.

2006, 20 May-"Arts in the Gardens"-painting in local gardens-did 3 quick pieces: "Poppies" (watercolor), "Artichoke" (watercolor), and pen and ink sketch of a shed. Also displayed at Starkville Arts Council fundraiser on 7 July.

2007, 30 Oct-Dec. 21- Four small mixed media drawings in art exhibition at Starkville's Greater Development Foundation Gallery.
2008, 5-19 Jan.- A collaborative drawing done with Bernard Dumaine, entitled"Honeymoon" included in an exhibition in Champniers, France at the La Mediatheque gallery.
2008, 19 April - Cotton District Arts Festival Art Juried Competition, Starkville, MS- Won second place overall with "Nine Panes of Thought". An additional piece, "Ambition", was accepted, but did not receive an award.
2008, 7 June-12 July- Meridian Museum of Art, People's Choice Award, I entered and had accepted one piece, "Nine Panes of Thought". This piece won first place in the drawing/print category!
2008, 17 Sept-8 October-One man show at Aust Hall, East Mississippi Community College in Scooba, MS. The opening reception at 2-3 PM on 17 September 2008.
2008, 5 December- Gala and Silent Auction at the Hunter Henry Center at Mississippi State University, MS from 6 PM to 11 PM. Donated art to the auction.
2008-2009, December-January-Surrealistic prints on display and for sale at the Creative Warehouse in Starkville, MS.

Drawings have been worked on for several years now for both Nitidulidae and Scarabaeidae of MS. Most drawings are habitus drawings with some additional morphological characters drawn as needed.
