MacGown Art Exhibition-East Mississippi Community College, Scooba, MS
17 September - 8 October 2008
I had a one man show on display at the Art Department of East Mississippi Community College in Scooba, Mississippi. The opening reception for the show was from 1:30-3:00 PM on 17 September 2008. The pieces in the show included a subset of my surrealistic artwork, and the show was entitled "Subconscious Meanderings". This show would not have been possible without the support and invitation of Terry Cherry and LIsa Spinks, both faculty members in the art department at the college. The exhibition appeared to be well received, and I would estimate at least 150 people were in attendance. There were many questions about my art and I was glad to answer any and all questions. Because the reception, and the show, was at a community college, the crowd was slightly different than some shows. There were many students present, and I was pleasantly surprised to see a large number atheletes at the show, some of whom actually appeared to be interested in the artwork. I have included some photos of the show below.
This exhibition was supported in part by Mark Wood, owner of the "Chalet", an art supply and frame shop in Starkville, MS, and by a grant from the Mississippi Arts Commission and the National Endowment for the Arts.
